Touchscreen Sony Walkman player in CES 2009

There are rumors that Sony is preparing a new Walkman player for
announcement in CES 2009 with a touch screen that could compete with
iPod touch. According to preliminary data, the new Walkman is equipped
with 3 inch OLED display, supports Wi-Fi and has a pre-installed
Internet browser.

The main menu structure is the same as in usual Walkman models, but
will be expanded by several new features. For example, when listening
to music of a certain artist you can click on his name and watch his
videos, placed on YouTube. Also there is a shortcut on main menu for
direct access to YouTube, pause, fast, quite similar to the access to
Youtube from the iPhone and iPod touch. In addition, the new Walkman
will allow to subscribe to audio podcasts and video streams Crackle.

It is reported that the touch Walkman device will be available in
variations with 16 GB and 32 GB internal memory, FM-radio, screen
resolution of 400×240 pixels, support of codecs - MP3, WMA, AAC, PCM,
AVC (h.264), MPEG-4 and WMV .

HP OAK Communicator Smart Phone

HP OAK
Communicator based on Windows Mobile Professional 6.1, according to The
Wall Street Journal. Czech funds mysterious iDNES said that this
innovation can be HP OAK leaked, the first rumors that appeard at the
beginning of the year.

According to preliminary data, OAK HP is equipped with two keyboards
- digital and side-sliding QWERTY. Form factor is similar to the HTC
S710 (Vox), here there are only a touch screen display. Communicator
supports high-speed HSDPA mobile standard, will have a GPS module,
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

There are no accurate data on the date of release or an estimated price yet.

Leaked: New HP Communicator before year’s end? (HP OAK)

According to today’s Wall Street Journal, HP is getting ready to launch a brand new Communicator before the year’s end. Could this be the previously leaked HP OAK that we heard about at the beginning of this year?

From what I can tell, the HP OAK looks to be an HP touchscreen version of the HTC S710 (Vox) — with two keyboards (digital and side-sliding QWERTY). It’s rumoured to have HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth, running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.

HP’s iPaq 910c Business Messenger is clearly designed with corporate executives and their IT staff in mind. HP’s tricked-out GPS hardware was not only extremely accurate; it got satellite fixes very fast. HP is also introucing the 614, another Windows Mobile device (this one presumably with a touchscreen), plus GPS, WiFi, and HSDPA. The company is also introducing the 314, a GPS navigator with custom HP software, and the iPAQ 214 and 114 two Windows Mobile-based PDAs without any phone functions (though they have WiFi, allowing for VoIP. The iPaq 910c has not been picked up by a U.S. Plus, it’s going to face stiff competition from brands like HTC, Samsung, and Motorola, which offer similar features and performance and for less with carrier support.”

The iPAQ 910c boasts a long list of high-end features it’s a modern-looking QWERTY bar phone with a very good keyboard, 3G 7.2Mbps HSDPA, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. An update on their troubles

If you are a fan of Windows Mobile, I'm sure Coolsmartphone.com is on the list regularly read, it's on me, but they have terrible problems with an attack at the end of Google have been pretty much knocked them from the Internet . We are now 100% sure that we have found and the problem is eliminated. I would like forum member "sTeDay" for his help tonight, plus all the messages of support, help and concern you have to send through - it is very much appreciated. Although we have removed the problem I am slightly at a loss to explain how they got there. A message here on the first page was changed and an IFRAME had been added to the end of it pulling code from a nasty Web site that tries to infect your machine with EXE files from various other websites. Somehow it had also changed the forum post in connection with this same story, which is a little confusing, as our internal systems would not normally fire changes in the forum automatically.
The problem could also arise in the ads on the side of the site, so I have removed every single Flash and Java display. This obviously has a massive financial hit for us, but I'm well aware of the problems you guys were out and I want to make sure that it does not happen again. I have e-mails and comments from people who have had to re-format their machines and start again. Although I personally believe that anyone with the Internet should be an anti-virus (AV) system, I would like to personally apologize to all those who either do not update their AV, has not made use or AV-AV, that missed the Download trial.
If there is someone out there experience with this hack (which came from places klikvp.com among others), please give me a shout at gears@coolsmartphone.com. Although I have removed the offending code, I'm not able to handle any type of SQL injection in each log file on our main server, so I'm assuming it's a different kind of hack. Even if someone has any contact with Google, I would love to hear from you - I've just filled in a form in their webmaster tools and got this answer ...

Several weeks? It took only a few days to us and black block Firefox / Google chrome access. Several weeks would leave us dead in the water, so please help if you can. : (

Update - Thanks to everyone for your donations. I have in this bottom you should want to help, while we diagnose the problem. I've just done a thorough check with rkhunter and the good news is we have not had hacked into the server so it looks like an SQL injection of a sort possible.

HP Oak, Silver smartphone rumors resurface

HP is nearing the release of two important touchscreen phones previously only hinted at earlier in the year, according to a pair of reports. The Wall Street Journal now hints that one of HP's first true touchscreen-focused iPAQ smartphones is due in Europe as soon as two months from now; the report directly corroborates a leak early in the year of the Oak that reveals a hybrid touch and keyboard design intended for Vodafone. The earlier and more specific leak would give the phone a side-slider design with 7.2Mbps, HSDPA-based 3G as well as GPS and Wi-Fi.

As with recent iPAQ smartphones, the Oak is also said to be running Windows Mobile 6.1. The newspaper adds that the phone should be available worldwide after the European release but doesn't mention more specific dates or prices. The earlier leak had initially suggested a September launch at ₤260 in the UK (now $461) but now may change given the apparent delay.

Separately, Engadget has also obtained the first photos of the Silver, a candybar-style parallel to the Oak. It would lose the touchscreen and revert to a SureType-style keyboard while keeping the advanced 3G and Windows Mobile foundations of the larger and likely more costly Oak. It too is also slated for Vodafone, though its originally projected ₤250 ($443) price and July release date have since become inaccurate. A US launch is very likely for the Silver.
